Goal Area 2:

The academic success of every child is supported in and out of school

Cradle to Career believes it is a moral and economic imperative that we support the academic success of all students in Sonoma County. By providing more relevant and engaging learning opportunities, giving students additional support during key transitions, and developing early warning systems to help at-risk students, more Sonoma County youth will succeed academically and in their life beyond school.

Trauma Informed Approaches

The Hanna Institute will be hosting a year long series of “Summit Sessions,” short 20-minute, skills-focused videos targeting schools and youth serving nonprofits to help them address and prevent trauma in the classroom and after-school settings. Particular emphasis will be on race-based trauma and the toxic stress from distance learning. All sessions will be online and free.

Latino Family Education Summit

Sonoma State University in partnership with Lambda Theta Nu and Latino Service Providers presents Latino Family Educational Summit: A week-long virtual event filled with workshops for parents, middle school, and high school students.

A Conversation w/the Students of 10,000 Degrees

At 10,000 Degrees, we believe that each of our students is ONE DEGREE of change. Please join us to hear first-hand accounts of the college journey and impact of 10,000 Degrees from three Sonoma County students: a student at Santa Rosa Junior College, a scholarship recipient attending Sonoma State University, and a recent graduate launching their career.
